    LXLE 16.04 beta is available.

At the moment only the 64bit is ready for testing, minor issues are delaying the 32bit, however it should be available soon. A few changes were required this release to keep and stay consistent/coherent with the rest of the OS. A number of MATE apps have replaced Gnome apps in this manner. A few Mint apps also make an appearance to facilitate common task easily. LXLE went on a diet in general shaving a couple hundred megabytes off the download by streamlining applications and services by default. While supplying more user features than ever, system resource usage remains very low allowing the OS to run comfortably on any PC produced in the past decade.

More detailed notes will be available when officially release after the point update by canonical aka Ubuntu. Until then here is a fresh video of the new system accompanied by a download link.... Please remember this is a beta edition and not the final version... thanks

Is there any way to reconfigure the location chosen by the Weather app?

    open a terminal and enter

    gksu pluma /usr/share/applications/weather.desktop

    change

    wttr.in

to something appropriate based on the manual

    https://github.com/chubin/wttr.in

save changes, panel icon may not take affect until restart or readd.

I love the new name, Eclectica....  consistently edgy along with the other names.  Cool.
    Loving Eclectica, 16.04.2 64bit
  • It seems that wttr.in defaults to town names in the USA; so a friend of mine lives in Kettering, UK but as there are towns called Kettering in the USA, it defaults to Kettering, USA...a poor implementation for non-USA users whose town names clash with USA town names.

after watching a new video review of a guy in the uk, when he clicked the weather app it autoconfigured correctly, so perhaps its hit or miss
